Glen Road Pedestrian Bridge & Tunnel Replacement


The City's contractor ' on the contractor's progress will be posted on the project webpage at *Timeline is subject to change. is now ready to remove the Glen Road Pedestrian Bridge (also known as the Morley Callaghan Footbridge) across the Rosedale Valley Ravine. The bridge also adjoins the pedestrian tunnel which runs under Bloor Street East to the Sherbourne Subway Station east entrance on the southern end of Glen Road. The tunnel will remain closed during the duration of the bridge removal and until it is replaced later this year. To safely remove the Glen Road Pedestrian Bridge structure that spans over Rosedale Valley Road, there will be a full closure of Rosedale Valley Road from Park Road to Bayview Avenue, starting at 12 a.m. on Saturday, February 4 until 6 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023. Depending on weather conditions, additional time may be necessary to complete this work. Updates toronto.ca/glen-rd-ped-bridge. Ahead of the bridge removal work, there will be no access to the multi-use trail on the same section of Rosedale Valley Road from Friday, January 13 to Friday, January 27, 2023 to allow work crews to set up and remove the required equipment. Access to the multi-use trail will temporarily re-open from Saturday, January 28 to Friday, February 3. Two additional road closures of Rosedale Valley Road will be required next year to install the new bridge structure. A notice will be sent in advance of each closure.
