New Green Initiative
You may now place your emptied and cleansed prescription pill containers in designated containers in the recycling area at the east and west building entrances in the garage.
This initiative is coordinated between volunteers at Kensington and Earthub.
“Earthub is a volunteer organization focused on spreading sustainable awareness, keeping items out of the landfill for reuse, and partnering with other environment groups to make a difference on our planet.”
“The Items to Keep Out of The Landfill program originated from our Founder's frustration of her single use, plastic prescription pill bottles. She searched high and low for a place that could reuse these pesky plastics and sure enough, there was a disaster relief organization that could! Next thing you know, the collection list expanded and more items were being accepted in certain cities as volunteers offered to help.”
Recycling Reminder
Please flatten your cardboard boxes before depositing them in the recycling bins.
Oasis Clothing Update
Kensington residents donated more than 151 bags of clothing to Oasis in the past year.
“Oasis Addiction Recovery Society is a non-profit organization in Toronto providing post-treatment employment focused programs for hundreds of people per year in recovery from drugs and alcohol. It is our belief that treatment for addiction cannot solely focus on the alcohol or drug consumption but must also address a range of social and emotional aspects of a person’s life. The work is done largely supported by the Oasis Clothing Bank. We depend on individuals, communities and local businesses by way of clothing donations to raise funds and awareness that ensure the ongoing support of the Oasis Movement.”
