The staff are deeply grateful for all your contributions.
And it’s not just the staff...you also raised $465.00 for the Allen Gardens Foodbank by purchasing tickets for the Raffle held at the KAL Christmas social.
Although chilly, those that attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves and send a big THANK YOU to the hard working and ever inventive Social Committee.
An exquisite (and no doubt delicious) gingerbread house was the Raffle prize.
The house was built by Jennifer Shield, daughter of Carol Burke. Jennifer has been making these houses for a long time, and every year they become more elaborate.
Hugh McDonald was the lucky winner.
And what did he do with it? Eat it? No. He continued the spirit of giving and generously donated it to an indigenous women's shelter downtown where children will get to enjoy it.

Dorothea chose the contrasting foliage- Cedar, Silver Fir, Pine, Noble Fir, Magnolia, Oregonia. We save and reuse the pine cones and birch every year and the red berries (which are the only artificial element.)
Guy and Alberta Nokes designed the planters and arranged them along with Jess and Jordan from Allweather and Susan Farkus.. There are 17 in all.

There are just 5 days left before our Food Bank donations end. Your generosity has been incredible. Last week you really did double your efforts. So, ONE MORE TIME let’s see if we can outdo ourselves and fill those bins in the lobby or if you’d rather donate money:
