Semi-Annual General Meeting of Shareholders
Tuesday November 29th, 2022 @ 6:00 pm is the SAGM (semi-annual general meeting)
Registration starts at 5:30
You can attend in person – in the lobby – or virtually by Zoom. If you attend in person, you must wear a well-fitting mask. Ontario Government guidance is clear about masking in public spaces:
When to wear a mask
You should wear a mask at all times when you are outside your home and in public places if you are at higher risk of severe illness.
People at higher risk for severe illness are encouraged to wear a mask for greater protection, particularly if they have not received all recommended doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, including:
· people who are older
· people with certain medical conditions
N-95 masks will be available if you don't have one, but to protect yourself and others you must wear a mask to attend in person.
Please submit your proxy if you do not plan on attending.
Those attending via Zoom will not be able to vote in the meeting or ask questions. They may only observe.
Budget preview sessions…
For those of you who would like a pre SAGM budget session the Treasurer Bill Angus will be hosting 3 sessions on the mezzanine level (7th floor)
Thursday Nov 17 9am to 11am
Friday Nov 18 1pm to 3pm
Saturday Nov 19 10am to 12noon
It’s that time of year again…
Once again, the Caring Committee is organizing a food drive in support of the Allan Gardens Food Bank. Starting this Friday there will be two donation boxes in the lobby.
Non-perishables only please, anything in a can or a box will be gratefully received. Several small items are preferable to one large item, for example, 3 small jars of peanut butter as opposed to one big one.
That way there’s more to go around.
Items that are particularly appreciated:
Rice
Pasta
Pasta sauce
Cereal (small boxes)
Crackers
Snacks (potato chips, granola bars)
Canned fish
Canned vegetables
Peanut butter (a big favourite)
Every little bit helps. Over the last two years the number of people using food banks has doubled to 1.45 million visits. That's the most ever recorded in the city's history. The foodbanks are so busy, they only have enough food and funding to provide the equivalent of 3 days food a week.
We hope that 21 Dale residents can be as generous this year as they were last.
The Banana that came in from the cold ...
The banana plant that you may have noticed getting bigger and bigger throughout the summer in the pot at the west entrance has been moved to the indoor pool deck. Just too impressive to compost,
The magnificent BB (aka -the BIG Banana) is the sole exception to the "No plants on the indoor pool deck rule." The Grounds Committee will look after BB and, fingers crossed, after dropping some leaves from the shock of being moved indoors, it will continue to thrive and be ready to return to the west entrance next year. Other plants have been tried in this location in the past and there were problems with watering and maintenance resulting in an unkempt mess. So, for now the Big Banana will flourish alone.
The 'sidewalk to nowhere' now goes to ... Dale Ave!
New curb cut-outs at the Dale end of the sidewalk on the west side of KAL and in the Visitors' Parking lot are making it easier for those with mobility impairments to get around at KAL. Watch for the spot nearest the cut-out in the visitors' lot to be designated as reserved for the mobility impaired.
Last, but not least…
THE TOWN HALL REPORT WILL BE PUBLISHED IMMINENTLY
